Heather Dodge has been sewing professionally for more than ten years. In 2000 her son Harry was diagnosed bipolar, ADHD, with sensory integration dysfunction. In the spring of 2005, Harry's long time occupational therapist approached Heather with the idea of creating therapeutic weighted items for kids with special needs. Thus was born Sew Sensory. Heathers educational background is in elementary and music education. She has been a stay-at-home mom for the past eight years, with an emphasis on managing Harry's health care. Currently, Heather is still at home, Managing Sew Sensory, and a youth leader in her church. Heather resides in Portage, Michigan with her husband Rich, son Harry, and daughter Alyssa.
